Excavations at Eliseg's Pillar

Pillar of ElisegChester and Bangor Universities are conducting archaeological excavations on the site of Eliseg's Pillar in a programme organised in collaboration with Llangollen Museum. On Saturday 31st July there will be an open day at Valle Crucis Abbey where there will be lots of family fun (storytellers, re-enactors, children's activities) as well as trips up to the excavation site and information about the dig.

Llangollen Museum, working in partnership with a number of other museums across north Wales and the borders and local companies specialising in 3D imaging, have been successful in obtaining funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to create a new programme 'Bringing the Artefacts Back to the People'.
